AB Lincoln
User GuideWritten for working marketers, not developers or data scientists. The sections follow the app's own menus, so start with the screen you are on, follow the clicks in order, and ignore the rest until you need it.
Your first 15 minutes
Create one project, then choose either a tracked link or a simple page split test. Save it as a draft, check the setup, and only send traffic when you feel ready. Nothing launches by accident.
Start with ProjectsCreate a project
Name it after your funnel, offer, or website.
Choose one job
Track a link or compare pages—do not tackle everything at once.
Use the checklist
AB Lincoln tells you what is missing before traffic starts.
The latest AB Lincoln improvements, newest first.
Sign in, learn the layout, and reach a useful first result without technical overwhelm.
AB Lincoln is part of Scale Plus. Opening the app signs you in with your Scale Plus account; if you already have a Scale Plus session you will not see a separate login screen. Use Sign out in the avatar menu to end your session.
Tests start as drafts. A draft sends no traffic and changes nothing on your live pages, so you can set everything up and double-check it first.
Open Projects and click New project. Name it after a funnel, offer, brand, or site.
Need a winner? Create a test from Tests → Create test. Need to measure or split campaign traffic? Create a link from Link Tracking / Rotators → New link.
Put the conversion pixel on the thank-you or confirmation page that means the visitor converted.
AB Lincoln tells you exactly what is missing before any traffic starts.
Full control of projects, domains, tests, links, and workspace setup.
Create and run tests and links, and manage projects and domains.
Read-only. Buttons that change things are hidden or disabled, and pages say view-only.
Most pages open with a short, collapsible guide that explains what the page is for and the next steps. It marks itself complete once you have done the first step.
Your home screen: recent projects, recent tests, and what needs attention.
How many projects your workspace has.
How many sites are connected for page context.
Tests currently receiving traffic.
Tests you are still setting up.
Open a project to see its tests, analytics, and domains in one place.
Jump straight back into a test's setup or report. If you have no tests yet, the Dashboard points you to create one.
If something important is missing, this notice appears at the top of the Dashboard and explains what to do next.
Keep each funnel, offer, website, or brand in its own tidy folder.
From the Projects page (or the project switcher). Use a name you will recognize six months from now.
Optional. Write what the funnel sells or what outcome it supports.
The new project becomes your active project. Tests, domains, and tracked links you create are attached to it.
Every test in the project. Open one to set it up or read its report.
Total tests, running tests, unique visitors, and conversion rate for the whole project.
The sites connected to this project and whether their snippet is detected.
That is okay. Install the correct conversion pixel on the page that confirms the lead, registration, or sale. If your funnel tool preserves AB Lincoln’s tracking information between pages, matching will be cleaner.
Find, create, and manage every test, and learn what each tab on a test page does.
Create test asks: What do you want to test?
The launch readiness checklist and the core facts about the test.
Recommendation, confidence, lift, conversions, and winner controls.
Edit settings and variants. Only drafts can be edited.
Tracking URL or snippet, launch controls, and the conversion pixel.
Drafts only: archive or delete the draft, with confirmation.
Drafts open on the Setup tab. Launched tests open on Analytics. Use Create another test or Project dashboard at the top of the page to move on.
Compare two or more finished pages using one traffic link.
A page split test compares finished pages. You publish one AB Lincoln tracking link. Each visitor is sent to one page version and normally sees that same version again when returning in the same browser.
What happens after someone clicks
Optionally choose a primary domain, or let Page A set the page context.
Add Page A and Page B, plus more if needed. Every URL must be different.
Allocation must total 100%. Choose confidence (85% is the default), the attribution window, and whether auto-pick may choose a winner.
Open the Tracking tab, copy the conversion pixel, and add it to your thank-you or confirmation page.
Then send traffic to the tracking URL on the Tracking tab. You can pause and resume routing there at any time.
Try a different headline, button, color, font, or image on one live page.
Make sure the project has a domain for the page. See Domains below.
Enter the exact page URL. AB Lincoln creates the original plus Variation B.
Copy it from the Tracking tab into the site header, then open the page once so AB Lincoln detects it.
Open the Chrome extension side panel on the page, refresh it to find the draft, select an element, and save the change to Variation B.
Add the conversion pixel to the success page, then click Launch optimization on the Tracking tab once every readiness check passes.
The Chrome extension is used for visual element selection. Supported edits are text, button copy, font size, font family, text color, background color, and image swaps (PNG, JPG, GIF, or WebP up to 3 MB). Changing where a button links is not supported.
AB Lincoln allows one active optimization test on an exact live page at a time. Stop the running one before launching another for that page.
Connect a page once, then make visual changes with the Chrome helper.
Copy the exact snippet from the test's Tracking tab and paste it into the website’s global header code, ideally before </head>. The domain shows as detected once the snippet reports in. Page split tests do not need it.
<script async src="https://your-ab-lincoln-host/snippet.js" data-abl-key="your-domain-snippet-key"></script>Avatar menu → Chrome extension → Download the extension ZIP.
Keep the ab-lincoln folder somewhere you will not delete it.
Open chrome://extensions and switch on Developer mode (top right).
Choose the unzipped ab-lincoln folder, not the ZIP, then open the AB Lincoln side panel from the toolbar.
In the side panel, this finds tests matching the current page and opens the report in a background tab. It never launches, edits, or picks a winner.
The extension saves variation edits, but launching, pausing, ending, and picking winners always happen in the AB Lincoln web app.
Tell AB Lincoln exactly which page means a visitor became a lead or buyer.
Every test gets its own conversion pixel automatically. Copy it from the test's Tracking tab and install it on the thank-you, registration confirmation, lead magnet delivery, or purchase confirmation page. An image version is available for platforms that cannot run custom scripts.

Confidence options
85% is the practical default. Think of confidence as “How strong is the evidence?” A higher setting asks for more proof and usually takes longer.
A large-looking lift with only a handful of visitors can be luck. Start with the recommendation, then use the numbers to understand why. Funnel-goal tests use a separate, human-approved selection; see AB Lincoln Agent below.
Measure campaign clicks or share traffic between destinations by percentage.
One public URL sends every click to one destination. AB Lincoln records raw, first-time, and repeat clicks so you can compare campaign traffic without setting up a test.
One public URL sends traffic to two to five destinations. Set weights that total 100%, then choose Sticky destination or Rotate every click for returning visitors.
A rotator measures clicks and conversions by destination, but it does not calculate confidence, lift, or a winner. Choose a page split test when you want AB Lincoln to evaluate which page performs best.
Choose the project for the funnel or campaign using this link.
Choose an existing campaign or create one. Categories and subcategories are optional folders for a larger library.
Pretty link: a readable slug on the hosted domain or your verified branded subdomain (use Check slug). Short link for SMS: a short generated code for text messages; it shows Coming soon until the short domain is live for your account.
Direct link needs one destination. Link rotator needs two to five destinations with weights totaling 100% and a returning-visitor rule.
Choose 7, 14, 30, 60, or 90 days, click Create tracked link, and copy the public URL into your ad, email, post, or button.
Clicks, unique conversions, pixel fires, conversion rate, per-destination results, and a daily trend.
Change URLs and rotator weights without changing the public link.
One pixel for every destination, plus attribution health.
Organization, returning-visitor behavior, attribution window, and the primary pretty URL.
Open the link, choose the Conversion Pixel tab, and place the recommended script on the thank-you or confirmation page.
<script async src="https://your-ab-lincoln-host/link-pixel.js" data-link-pixel="your-link-pixel-key"></script>If you change a link’s slug or tracking domain, Published route aliases keeps every old address working. Your ads and emails never break. A short link’s code cannot be changed.
Connect branded tracking subdomains and tell AB Lincoln where your tested pages live.
In Domain Manager, open your domain, choose the AB Lincoln tile, select your project, and enter an unused subdomain such as go. Domain Manager adds the tracking DNS record when it manages your DNS; otherwise add the displayed record at your provider. Disconnect portal-managed tracking domains in Domain Manager.
The Tracking domains panel lists your branded subdomains and their status.
Pick the project, enter a subdomain such as go.example.com, and click Connect domain. Bare domains like example.com are rejected.
Copy the DNS records to configure into your DNS provider, then click Check DNS until the status changes from Needs DNS to active.
Choose the project that owns the tested page.
Choose a PageBuilder or Agent Deploy site connected to your Scale Plus account, or choose Other URL and paste an address. A full page URL is fine.
The domain appears with its project, linked tests, and snippet status (Detected or Needs setup).
It does not change DNS, deploy your site, or install the snippet. Your website and email stay where they are. A tracking subdomain visited without a link shows a neutral page, and hosted /go/ links always work while a branded domain is being set up.
Let the Agent draft tests and read funnel outcomes, with you approving every change.
The Agent is marked Pro Max. Availability depends on your plan, workspace access, and setup, and AI requests use Scale Credits. It never bypasses your access or the approval step.
Choose the Workspace, then the Project and Test, or let the Agent choose.
For example: Create a draft comparing these two sales-page URLs. Make purchases the primary goal. Do not launch it yet.
Check the tool activity and any approval request before relying on the answer.
Start a new conversation to change project or test context. History holds your saved conversations in that workspace.
Sequential rounds pit the current champion against up to three challengers. Creating a campaign drafts round one but does not launch it. Review the queue and policy first. Automatic advancement is off unless you approve it, and pause, resume, cancel, and advance each need their own approval.
Launches and changes show a fixed preview. Approval applies to that exact proposal; a yes in chat is not an approval. Making a winner permanent is a separate PageBuilder publication you approve there.
At the bottom of the Agent panel, this explains how to use the same tools in Codex or Claude through your existing ClickCampaigns connection. No separate API key is needed. WebinarBaser connections and external publishers must be reviewed and verified before use.
Your workspace, roles, reporting timezone, and account details.
Team access, billing, and login security are managed by your Scale Plus account, not inside AB Lincoln.
Follow a few practical rules that prevent misleading results.
A strong first test compares one clear idea: page angle, headline, button copy, hero image, or offer framing.
Use the same conversion event while the test runs. Changing the goal halfway through makes the result harder to trust.
Early spikes are useful clues, not proof. Let AB Lincoln keep a result in Learning or Needs More Traffic when data is thin.
Avatar menu → Testing playbook covers what to test first, how to read confidence and lift, and the setup checks to run before sending traffic.
Translate the few testing and tracking terms you will see in the app.
A folder for one funnel, offer, campaign, website, or brand.
One version being tested. Version A is usually the original; B, C, and D are alternatives.
The original or baseline version that other versions are compared against.
The success action you care about, such as a lead, registration, booked call, or sale.
A tiny tracking script placed on the success page so AB Lincoln can count conversions.
A small script installed on a page so AB Lincoln can show page-optimization variations.
The first recorded visit from one browser. Repeat visits remain visible but do not count as a new person.
The percentage of visitors who completed the success action.
How much better or worse a version performed compared with the original.
How strong the evidence is that the difference is real rather than ordinary chance.
How long after a tracked click AB Lincoln is allowed to connect a later conversion to it.
A returning visitor keeps seeing the same destination instead of being randomly routed again.
Use this section as a translation sheet. The panels inside AB Lincoln also explain what each setting changes at the moment you need it.

Yes. The Chrome extension is used for visual editing; Agent-planned variations can skip it when that feature is enabled for you.
Yes. Page split tests can run A/B/C/D-style variants as long as traffic allocation totals 100%.
Not at the same time. Stop the running optimization before launching another one for that exact page.
Yes. Page optimization image swaps support PNG, JPG, GIF, and WebP uploads up to 3 MB.
No. Button destination changes are not supported in this version.
Standard tests can use auto-pick. Funnel-goal tests always need your approval, and making a winner permanent is always a separate step.
No. A rotator reports clicks and conversions by destination. A page split test also calculates confidence, lift, and winner guidance.
No. A new slug or tracking domain becomes the primary URL while previously published routes remain active aliases. Destination changes keep the public URL unchanged.
